Formosina is located in the trendy and wealthy area of Maida Vale. When we first met the owners their first priority was to create something that the surrounding residents would be wowed by. The idea was to open a coffee shop come bistro which offered healthy meals as well as the usual sandwiches and salads. The task then was to create a desirable looking coffee shop fit upstairs along with a fully functional kitchen downstairs. On top of all of this, the client wanted a chef’s table downstairs, so the kitchen had to be attractive. After the initial consultation, we moved on to the different areas in the shop. The owners had no previous experience of any catering business so this is where our experience and advice in catering equipment and layout design came into its own. At this time we were also given the budget to work to for the complete job. They decided on the vertical glass Siena Refrigerated Display for a cool contemporary look and upgraded our standard modular back bar with granite worktops. In the kitchen we combined our Modular Cooking Range, the Tecno 70 Range with Stainless Steel Fabrication, Extraction and we completed the luxurious look with granite worktops downstairs as well. The job was finished on time and on budget and the equipment has resulted in a great looking shop which is also functional.
