3 Tips to Improve Your Instagram Marketing

3 Tips to Improve Your Instagram Marketing

Instagram is one of the biggest social media and marketing tools you could ever use to grow your coffee shop or restaurant. Below we look at 3 ways to effectively improve your Instagram marketing strategy:

1) What Are You Giving Away?

Giveaways are a simple and an effective way in engaging with your target audience. They can help to increase your follower count, boost your exposure and encourage re-visits to your coffee shop or restaurant. When hosting a giveaway, ensure you offer a prize that is enticing and exciting enough to draw in the crowds. Having a set of rules in order to enter (for example, ‘make sure you’re following @catersales’ and ‘repost this picture’) is your chance to grow exposure for your business and get your name out there.

Consider posting teaser images or video in the run up to your official giveaway start time to build hype and get your coffee shop or restaurant trending.

2) Do You Know Your Hashtags?

One of the reasons a number of businesses do not get the exposure their posts deserve is due to the lack of hashtags. Hashtags are key on Instagram to allow users to find your post. Researching competitors and digging deep to find targeted hashtags will ensure your posts are reaching the right target audience. As you build a larger following, you can slowly decrease the amount of hashtags and focus on using a select few. Remember, you can also create your own hashtag to help customers find your posts faster and to monitor the growth of your audience.

3) Utilise Instagram Insights

As a coffee shop or restaurant you should take advantage of an Instagram business account to gain access to Instagram InsightsInstagram Insights allows businesses to monitor the performance of posts through impressions, engagement, likes and more. The simple analytics tool also gives businesses a more in-depth look into their followers including best posting times, gender and location. With all of this information at your fingertips, you can significantly adjust your current marketing strategy to ensure your posts are reaching your specific target audience.
